Site Foreman / Co-ordinator

40 Hours a Week

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of various projects and site operatives.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and other team members to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Supervise and direct construction activities, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and project specifications.
  • Provide guidance and support to construction crews, ensuring work is completed efficiently and to high standards.
  • Monitor project progress, report any issues or delays and suggest solutions to overcome challenges.
  • Manage resources effectively, including equipment, materials and manpower, to meet project deadlines and budget constraints.
  • Communication effectively with team members and clients to address concerns and maintain project alignment.
  • Coordinate the delivery and pickup of materials as needed for project operations.

Salary - £38,500 P/A

Civil Engineer

We are recruiting two Civil Engineer’s to join our team in our Ash Vale office. At Patrick Parsons we are focused on creating the places for future generations to thrive. This is an excellent opportunity to join our forward thinking multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy. 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible directly to the Director for the financial and technical control of the civil engineering aspects of various projects.
  • On larger projects assist the Director in managing financial, technical and resourcing issues.
  • Deliver projects within budget constraints and ensure colleagues and line managers are kept informed of progress.
  • Delegate work to Junior Engineers and Technicians involved on projects.
  • Mentoring colleagues in developing technical knowledge and understanding.
  • Responsible for selected technical issues.
  • The role is client facing therefore, the successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and represent the company in a professional manner.
  • Check calculations, specifications, drawings and reports produced by others, in accordance with operational procedures.
  • Undertake site visits to monitor the progress of works against specifications, and highlight issues to the contractor, client and/or (internal or external) project manager as necessary.
  • Produce engineering supporting reports for planning applications such as Flood Risk Assessment reports, Drainage Strategy reports, Bulk Earthworks reports, Site Viability assessments etc.

  • A MEng or BEng in Civil Engineering.

3D Electrification Visualisation Specialist

 Location: Manchester (Flexible/Hybrid options may be available)  

Job Type: Full-time


Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed 3D models and renderings of railway electrification systems, including overhead lines, substations, and related infrastructure.
- Perform EMC modeling to ensure compliance with relevant standards and to minimise interference risks within the railway system.
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to interpret technical specifications and project requirements into visual designs.
- Create dynamic visual simulations and animations to demonstrate system functionality and to identify potential issues in the design phase.
- Produce high-quality visual documentation for project stakeholders, including technical manuals, installation guides, and project proposals.
- Utilise advanced 3D modeling software and tools to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of visual outputs.
- Stay updated on the latest developments in 3D rendering technologies and EMC standards applicable to railway systems.
- Participate in project meetings, providing visual insights and supporting the decision-making process with technical expertise. 

Salary: £39,500 per annum

Required Skills & Qualifications:


- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with a strong portfolio in 3D modeling and visualisation.
- Proven experience in 3D rendering and modeling, specifically in an engineering or technical environment.
- Strong understanding of EMC modeling, preferably in the context of railway systems.
- Proficiency in 3D rendering software such as Autodesk 3ds Max, Maya, or similar, as well as EMC simulation tools.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical details into clear visual formats.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Specialised Engineering Train Fitter

 Location: England (nation wide available)

Job Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities:
- Retrofitting of newly developed diagnostics, and engineering monitoring equipment on existing engineering maintenance trains, focusing on electrification and track maintenance equipment.
- Interpret and follow detailed engineering drawings and technical specifications to ensure precise assembly of train components.
- Collaborate closely with engineers and project managers to ensure that all new on-board systems meet operational and safety standards.
- Utilise specialised tools and diagnostic software to identify and resolve issues with electrical systems, hydraulics, and other mechanical components.
- Lead and train junior fitters, providing guidance on best practices in equipment retrofits and maintenance as well as safety procedures.
- Maintain records of maintenance schedules, repairs, and inspections, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Participate in the testing and commissioning of new trains or systems, ensuring they are fully operational and meet project requirements.

Salary: £35,000 per annum

Associate Structural Engineer

Location:  Twickenham (Flexible/Hybrid options may be available)

The purpose of this role is to assist with the management of the Structures team, overseeing the day to day running of projects, attending project meetings, being a key contact for clients, contractors, other project consultants and technical lead for the design team. This person will motivate, inspire and support the professional and personal development of a strong team of engineers and technicians.

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Assisting with managing the Structural design team, ensuring the provision of efficient high-quality structural engineering design
  • Prepare fee proposals, including resources and programme
  • Manage structural and multidisciplinary projects from inception through to completion
  • Responsible in leading the quality and the timely delivery of multiple projects running concurrently, including the preparation of the Design Scope of work as well as the technical designs of projects
  • Co-ordination and management of other discipline inputs into multi-disciplinary projects
  • Develop detailed methodologies, delegating preparation of tasks as appropriate
  • Assess resource requirements at each stage of the project
  • Deliver projects within timescale, budget constraints and quality expectations
  • Determine the need for and attend project progress meetings
  • Oversee the response to design queries during construction phase and attend site meetings.
  • Set up projects and allocate budgets to work stages
  • Ensure financial data is up to date and co-ordinate the timely and correct issuing of invoices.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly project workload and fee forecasts
  • Actively manage projects to minimise WIP, and be responsible for the financial performance projects to which you are assigned
  • Ensure that all project related documentation is kept in compliance to the Business Management systems, processes and procedures
  • Anticipate challenges and project risks and recommend necessary mitigating measures, and where necessary relay to clients
  • Develop the Structures team with a view to expanding its client base through compiling and implementing an effective business development strategy
  • Work alongside the Business Development team in the preparation of structural and multidisciplinary PQQ and ITT submissions
  • Develop and mentor engineers and technicians including conducting annual appraisals
  • Develop and maintain staff resource plans across projects including identifying when the team needs additional resource
